Costs

  • Initial startup fee: $575/ hive
  • Monthly maintenance fee (12 months): $125 per month for each hive

12-Month Agreement

  • LBF will visit your hives a minimum of 2 times per month for inspection and maintenance. Some months may require more frequent visits depending on the season.
  • LBF will contact you before each visit.
  • Sometimes honeybee colonies will swarm, abscond or unfortunately die off. In any event LBF will replace the colony at no charge to the customer.

End of the 12-month Agreement options

  • Renew another 12-month agreement (startup fee waived).
  • End agreement and LBF will remove hives from your property.
  • Purchase the hive and equipment to maintain yourself. $300/ hive (includes 1 brood box, 1 super box, bottom and top boards, inner cover, Queen excluder and complete set of frames).
  • Early termination of the 12-month plan will result in a 2-month cancellation fee.

Honey Harvesting Options

  • Harvest the honey yourself (LBF has equipment if needed).
  • LBF harvests your honey ($150 per hive) and returns it in a bulk container with a dispensing honey gate.

There are many reasons for having a honeybee hive on your property.  A few of them are producing your own honey, shared outdoor family experience, an aesthetic addition to your property/garden, neighborhood pollination and supporting your local beekeeper.  

Contact Lucky Bee Farms and set up an appointment at your property to go over hive location, agreement details and answer questions.

It includes a starter colony of honeybees, fully outfitted beehive box, monthly inspection, and maintenance services for 12-months.  Hive contains assembled 10 frame deep box, one medium super, entrance reducer, bottom board, queen excluder and telescoping top with inner cover.  

You will be leasing the honeybee colony and equipment from Lucky Bee Farms. At the end of the 12-month agreement you can purchase the colony of honeybees and the beehive.  Any honey the colony produces during the year will be yours to keep. 

Yes! You are welcome to participate in the inspections or go and check on the honeybees on your own at any time. Time can be coordinated with the inspections so that you can learn about the colony and beekeeping.

There will be a 2-month cancellation fee and LBF will remove/relocate the hives.
